About portier

portier isn’t just a brand, we’re a fresh take on what it means to parent. Australian-owned and proudly independent, we design lifestyle essentials that don’t ask you to compromise on aesthetics or functionality.

We believe parenthood doesn’t look one way, and neither should the products that support
it. Our pieces are refined, practical and designed with longevity in mind, for a growing global community that values quality without sacrificing style.

We’ve seen strong momentum in the US, UK and Asia, and we’re just getting started.

About the Role

Portier is a modern lifestyle brand creating elevated, functional products for parents on the go. From stylish, durable baby carriers to travel and everyday essentials, our products are designed to make life easier while looking effortlessly chic. With local success and growing international demand, we’re seeking a Product Development & Production Manager to own the journey from product concept through to production, quality control, and inventory management.

This is a rare, end-to-end role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and operations. You’ll work closely with our Founder to shape new product ideas, make design decisions, solve challenges, and see them come to life in the hands of customers around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

You will manage the full lifecycle of Portier products, from initial concept and design through product development, production, and purchasing, to delivery and inventory management. Your expertise will ensure our products are not only beautiful and functional but also meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Driving new product development from concept to production readiness
  • Contributing ideas around materials, functionality, construction, and usability
  • Managing sampling, revisions, and approvals with manufacturers
  • Owning the production process from purchase order to delivery
  • Purchasing raw materials and finished goods
  • Creating and managing purchase orders in Cin7 (DEAR)
  • Organising third-party QA inspections and managing outcomes
  • Coordinating international freight from factory to warehouse (sea & air)
  • Liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouses
  • Managing shipping timelines, costs, and documentation
  • Ensuring accurate landed costs are captured in Cin7 (DEAR)
  • Maintaining accurate product, supplier, and inventory data
  • Monitoring stock levels and supporting demand planning
  • Improving systems, processes, and documentation as the business scales

About You:
  • 4-5+ years’ experience in product development, production, purchasing, supply chain, or operations
  • Hands-on experience with offshore manufacturing
  • Familiar with using DEAR / Cin7 (or similar ERP solutions)
  • Strong understanding of materials, construction, testing and quality control
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive
  • Commercially minded and solutions-focused
  • Comfortable working in a founder-led, fast-moving environment

Why portier?

We’re a team that genuinely cares about what we’re creating. We work closely, think long-term, and back each other, without corporate fluff. Here, your contribution will be visible in every product we launch and every parent who uses it.

If you’re hands-on, take pride in doing things well, and want to play a real part in taking a premium lifestyle brand global, we’d love to hear from you.
