STYLE EDIT | THE INARRA X PORTIER
If you're looking for style inspiration to navigate the beautiful yet challenging journey of pregnancy and motherhood, this month’s Style Edit featuring Courtney McIntosh—mother of two and founder of The Inarra—will speak to you.
Born from this exact experience, Courtney conceived the idea for The Inarra; a digital destination and shopping platform for women who are evolving the way they dress in motherhood, without sacrificing their personal sense of style.
With her finger on the pulse, Courtney shares her wardrobe recommendations via her shoppable edits and 1:1 consults, helping modern mothers to curate aspirational looks with a mix of exclusive designer pieces and affordable high street must-haves.
In honour of our brand new carrier styles, we asked Courtney to show us how she’d style the new colourways.
The portier Limitless Baby Carrier in Marle Houndstooth is a great statement piece that has versatility across your wardrobe. Courtney has styled it with a modern alternative to the classic jeans and T-shirt look that’s super simple to achieve. Starting with a timeless white 'Husband Tee' from Friends With Frank this is a wardrobe essential, paired with the mid-rise flared jeans by Thank You Have a Good Day creates a relaxed yet polished foundation. I find a wide-leg silhouette to be flattering on a lot of changing body shapes. The Row's leather slingback sandals add an effortless addition that tie in with Loewe's Puzzle Fold XL tote, offering ample space seamlessly balancing function and style. Celine’s cat-eye sunglasses and Missoma's oversized wavy ridge earrings lend a statement finish to this chic, modern-mum look.
This modern, retro inspired look featuring the portier Limitless Carrier in Fawn gives relaxed elegance with a coastal feel - perfect for summer days. The Savanna relaxed pants from Sir The Label in a subtle cantina stripe offer a laid-back foundation, and are perfectly complemented by the structure of the Clare vest from Friends With Frank. Celine’s Clea Triomphe gladiator sandals add a subtle statement while Loewe’s Flamenco leather clutch is surprisingly spacious for all your mum things. Bottega Veneta’s aviator sunglasses bring an LA throw-back feel, completed with Missoma’s molten wave cuff bracelet and twisted double pendant necklace in gold.
With Courtney’s innate sense of personal style and experience curating looks for so many different women globally, we asked if she could share some of the most valuable insights and advice she’s gained from working with such a diverse group of women and having the opportunity to play a part in each of their personal journeys.
“THE INARRA community has been a profound source of inspiration, teaching me that style is so much more than aesthetics—it’s about intentionality, empowerment, and self-expression. Many of our readers dress purposefully to feel their best and prioritise authenticity over fleeting trends, which reminds me to stay true to my own style. They’ve shown me how balancing practicality with personal expression can create a unique style that’s both functional and uplifting. Their focus on quality, sustainability, and style as a form of self-care has deepened my own appreciation for thoughtful, ritualistic dressing, and I’m so grateful for the wisdom they bring me on this journey.
A key piece of advice I often share is to embrace flexibility in your wardrobe. As your body changes, investing in adaptable pieces—like wrap dresses, stretch-waist trousers, and loose yet structured tops—can help you feel confident without sacrificing comfort. I also encourage clients to focus on quality basics that layer well, as these can be dressed up or down and adjusted to suit different stages. Another reminder is to avoid getting hung up on sizes; instead, look for pieces that flatter your current shape and make you feel good. Finally, never underestimate the power of accessories! Belts, scarves, and jewellery can transform simple outfits and bring your personality to the forefront, even on days when comfort is key.”
