BEHIND THE DESIGN OF THE INSTINCT COLLECTION

Inspired by our founder's grandmother, a seamstress whose bold, timeless style and love of animal print defined her individuality. We sat down with portier's founder, Lia, to explore what inspired this collection.

My grandmother has always had an unmistakable sense of style. She recently turned 101, and this milestone felt like the perfect moment to reflect on the influence she’s had on me throughout my life, her creativity, her confidence, her unwavering sense of self.

She was a seamstress, and growing up I spent countless hours with her as she made everything from formal dresses to tennis outfits. I’d sit beside her, choosing fabrics and coming up with designs which she would help bring to life. Those moments shaped so much of how I see style, considered, expressive, and made to last.

Animal print has always been her signature. From zebra to leopard, she wears it effortlessly, bold, timeless, and unapologetically her. It felt only natural that this collection would echo that energy; a reflection of the woman who taught me that true style is about confidence & individuality.

INSTINCT is a reflection of her, a celebration of that raw, feminine power that comes from trusting yourself completely. It’s an ode to her legacy, her confidence, and the fearless women who move through life guided by instinct.
